First of all I want to thank Ben for the get together. I think a total of 24 yakers came. It was a beautiful day on the water. Trout fishing was slow but a few were caught.

I ditched the trout idea and went straight to bass. Headed to the spillway before after 2 hours I finally figured out what they wanted. I caught a total of 16 spot with the biggest going just about 15 1/2 inches. Very chunky fish. I am uploading my videos from my Gopro right now so I will have them posted soon.

It was great meeting a lot of new guys. Can't wait to do it again.

Also there was someone who forgot a paddle and a folding table. I believer Rockfish has the paddle and Ben has the table.

It was great for the time of year. I have video of nearly every one and a picture in the Hook1 hog trough. Video should be good!

As was mentioned the day was slow, although I managed to finally get a fish in my yak today (more on that later).  I too would like to thank Ben for setting up the get together.  Met a lot of NCKA'ers today and had a great time on the water.

On to my report, I was planning to leave on Friday night but lack of planning did me in.  Set my alarm clock to 3:00 AM and I was on the road at 4:15.  Got to Angels Camp at around 6:30 AM and stopped by Glory Hole Sports and picked up some orange seps grubs and something to drink.  Made it to the launch at the same time as a bunch of other folks.  However, it still takes me nearly an hour to get myself ready so I wasn't on the water until 7:40 AM.  Started out trolling one of the seps orange grubs and a j5 firetiger rapala.  Probably not more then 1/2 hour later I am across the lake and I get hit on the orange grub.  Get the fish to the net and it is a nice 14 1/2" rainbow.  I continue to troll until noon using a variety of rapalas and grubs with no result.  On the way in, I get hit on my j5 firetiger rapala and I end up with a little 12" rainbow which I release.  The wind is starting to pickup so I head on in.  By the time I had everything packed it was about 2:40 PM and it was time to head on home.

First fish on my yak!

I got there early to watch the bass tourny boats take off like rockets. Kinda cool. I got my yak in the water and ready to go... and... um... wheres my paddle? AH CRAP! So I drive to Glory Hole store... no paddles there. They said try SNACK in Murphies... got there and it was closed. LOL...

Got to the ramp and my yak was still there  :smt003... so I get ready to pack it up and Jim (Rockfish) saved my day! Thanks big time for loaning me the paddle!

I couldn't get a bite on a grub for the life of me. So I start drifting power bait off the bottom. They liked that.

Then I dont make it back in time... AH CRAP again! LOL.

Great time out there today! Thanks to Ben and everyone that chipped in to make it happen. Good grub too!

Cant wait for the next event!

Can you provide a photo on your setup for this one?  I wonder if it will work at other lakes...

Thanks in advance,

Luis
