Just a heads up, I saw in the paper today that Cafe Rouge in Berkeley holds butchery classes on the last monday of every month, for $65 a class, 6:30-9pm.

The Feb 22nd class focuses on wild boar and pigs.

... or you could take a lesson on "How to Butcher on Big Boar with a Pocket Knife in Under an Hour" by BigEyeDave

I saw Dave shoot, gut, skin, hang, cut up, bag, and pack a 225 pound boar in less than hour.  Simply amazing.  The dude is a killing machine.

Below is a pic from my old hunting report....

Thanks for the link Chuck. I missed that report the first time around and it was a very inspiring read.

I don't think they had a shotgun season at sonoma this year did they?

I don't know how to shoot a bow but I'd love to bag a pig with my grandfather's old .270.

Elliot... you're welcome.  Lake Sonoma cancelled their shotgun season this year partially due to cutbacks.  Personally, I prefer an archery only season.  It got absolutely crazy last shotgun season (Feb 2009).  Guys were everywhere with shotguns blasting away and driving hogs into the next county.

Eek that does sound sketchy! I know I live in oakland so I shouldn't be afraid but the idea of crowded hunting with a bunch of shotgun toting yahoos scares the crap out of me.

I'm still looking for that impossible to find private land/ranch to hunt.
