No Catfish at Lake Chabot! 2/15

I'm introducing my next door neighbor and his son to kayak fishing.  Lake Chabot is a great little lake for newbies so we went there today.  We launched around 9am and while they dropshot for LMB, I'm drifting/slow trolling for Mr. Catfish using Chicken Liver.  My neighbor pedalled my Outback, his son paddled my Moken, and I paddled the Hobie Pursuit.  I circled the whole lake twice but no cat for me today (maybe there's no Catfish in this lake  ).  My neighbor caught a fatty 17" LMB.  I think he's hooked with kayak fishing!  Here are some pictures of the day.

You probably right if I kept my OK Scrambler, Mini-X, Cobra FnD, and Hobie Sport 

You're a good ambassador to the sport. WTG!

I like your way of thinking    What did you use for bait the last time you caught your catfish there? (If you want to keep it secret then I understand) 

I used clams but I think you may have better luck with mackerel.

I got me a yak baidarka myself today from outdoor but I don't think I can afford a similar reel like yours.  that thing looks sweet.
