I've got my trap and will give it some soak time at Doran very soon.

After reading this:

http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?page=18

I'm trying to decide where to drop, I only got one trap.

Post up where not to drop, boat channel etc... or PM me some good drop zone info.

Thanks
James.

Don't need to paddle far, drop the trap near the end of the jetty.  Don't drop it around boat channel as boat traffic is heavy and the water there is pretty deep.

be on the left side of the jetty for protection.  closer to the rocks will result in rock n red crabs
farther out from the rocks means more dungees.  I usually bring about 8-10 nets.  i do half n half
good luck

AbMan, let us know when you plan to go crabbing. Tomales or Doran are great areas....

I hope to be hitting
doran this Friday if weather permits.
Got to be out of the water by 1100 though.  I hate the drive back to vallejo on 37 with Friday commute.

I'll be there Friday afternoon through Monday morning camping with the family, doing long soaks on my one trap.
