I'll bet if you take your wet suit in to Jim Steel at
steels dive shop 60th and Telegraph in Oakland, he'll tell you what to do or even help you do it.

On a similar topic...

Somewhere on the site or on the other site, I posted Miyak Mike's step-by-step DYI instructions (with pictures) on how to install a relief fly in a wetsuit.  I need to find it and turn it into an article.  It's good stuff.

Chuck....
I would be VERY interested in that one. I have often found myself with that particular dilemma. Fishing is good...an you gotta go back in because nature calls....bummer. I might have to try and find that article.

Thanks!

it seems to me that the zipper would be uncomfortable rubbing against my skin.

I'm tempted to turn my jacket from my john and jacket to a beavertail.

see http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=1360&highlight=beaver%2A

scroll down to KzReelRods post.  my jacket is hard enough to get off...let alone on a kayak.

The zipper is on the outside.   As for shortening your wet suit I called Jim Steel  He said to cut the arms and legs where needed. then put some glue on the cut area to keep the fabric from unraveling.  Then you may need to tapper the ends so you have a good snug fit by cutting a 3" V and gluing together and hand sewing the fabric together and put sum glue on the stitches.
