Spoke with Cobra today and the mold has been modified to alleviate the cracked scuppers and its all good.  Mauraders appear to finally be in full production.  I will let you know as soon as I hear an update on our order.

Any kind of queue we can be in for orders?

What is price for all shown hatches and rod holders?

Woohoo!!!! Great news ... lets hope it's for real.

It's too bad I didn't read this post earlier. I was at Lake Amador this past weekend with the Maruader XF and could have shown it to the original poster of this thread. We even went into Valley Springs for gas and to get a coffee. *Note ... Beware of coffee shops that also double as an electronics shop. That had to be the worst coffee drink we've ever had!

So Sharkbait... since you got to put the Marauder through it's paces this weekend, what did you think of it?  Did you get into any sloppy conditions with it?

yes....I'm curious myself......any pros and cons on this yak? I took it out for 10 minutes at the Mendo Bendo derby - obviously not enough time to make judgements. BUT the storage is definitely something worth having- especially when launching and landing on heavy surf days  :smt002 I can really see myself on this kayak at Linda Mar with a "NO FEAR" attitude  :smt066

We had the proto boat that Sharkabait borrowed out on the dark day at Elk and it was impressive in the big slop.  Very efficient in messy water...but with a lot of rocker and a sharp bow it should.  Curious to get your thoughts too Sharkbait.

Mklien: I am already in the front of the line, and I ordered a few extra boats.  If your interested, give me a buzz.

Well I don't really have anything to compare it to but I can tell you this. It's a dry yak, I only get wet from paddle drippings (and rain  :smt003 ). 18" boat wakes didn't make it into the kayak, just went right under me. I have a 30" inseam and the yak fits me great. Those with long legs will be crampt. Initially I thought the rod holders behind the seat would interfere while I paddled, that isn't the case and I've asked Sean to add them to my yak. The deck in front of the seat is great, I can actually sit cross legged if my legs cramp up (remember I'm not use to sitting in that position for a long time). The storage and access to the storage on the water is great. The kayak is stable and seems fast to me but I'm not a great judge of kayak speed. It's very easy to paddle and easy to turn (this from a newb). There is a nice flat spot in front where mounting a fish finder will be easy. Loading and unloading by myself wasn't a problem either. The kayak is pretty light and I didn't have any trouble lifting it onto my truck racks by myself (racks are6' 6" high (Ford F150 4x4) and I am 5'10")

It did get very windy on one day and I didn't have any problems paddling against the wind. I haven't had it out in any rough stuff so I can't comment on that. Sean had it out in the ocean and can provide more feedback on ocean use.

I can't really think of any cons with the kayak from the 3 days that I've used it ... maybe a cupholder would be nice but now we're really nit picking.

Shark-thanks for the feedback, pretty much reflects my experience.  One of the features I ended up really liking was the double rod holders in the front.  I would put a rod in one, and  bonker etc. in the other.
