Hit Muir today with Sharky and friends, to one helluva high tide, the other guys dropped multiple traps and I worked my 2 rings for 5 Dungies and 3 big reds. Nice hang on the beach, nice to meet everyone. Video soon...

Great catch Ben! The Muir was good to me earlier this year but seemed to be a bit slow the last couple times I went out.

Glad to see things are looking up again!

You guys are too nice  :smt001
Well decided to man up and post my version. After having got easy limits every time out this season(over 200 in total) it was bound to happen. Outta 6 promar traps not a single legal dungie! More rock crabs than we needed to feed our friends back at the beach.
When I dropped them at the top of the tide I may have misjudged the drop zone. Usually i check on them after an hour or so which woulda been a good idea, but between socializing and lending out the tandem to people wanting to go for a paddle, I just let them soak. When I did decide to pull them after 3hrs it was a little disappointing. When i got to the string I knew It wasnt goin to be pretty. I could immediately see they were too close to the rocks. I dont know if dropping them at the top of the extremely high tide made me miss calculate the sweet spot or the big tidal currents moved them. I kinda suspect they walked, cause it didnt seem they were in the same place and one was nowhere to be found. My fears were confirmed with zero legal dungies. Ben did much better constantly working hoops and reorganizing his gear when he found crab. Still, with a pot boiling back at the beach and a bunch of friends hangin out I had a great day.
2 CG boats and 2 Choppers were searching the cove from around 3pm till dark. I think someone fell off the cliffs to the south of the cove. Bad day to be in the water. Cold with ripping currents. Creepy. We kept our eyes peeled for someone (and my lost pot) for nada.

Thanks for the report Ben & Sharky! Previous reports from Muir made it sound like a cakewalk to easy limits. Not so now though. jim
