I would go with a Nikon too...maybe shoot for some pocket wizards and a few flashes too.  You want to go with OCF, it's all the rage....and it of course makes the cause a bit more worthy.

WTF....I've seen alot of dumb threads before but I think this one takes the cake.  I work my @ss off all week long to be able to pay my bills and scratch together a small collection of toys.  I sure as hell ain't giving it to some geek on the net so he can buy a crappy cannon.

The Canon 5D and 7D are badass. They shoot 1080 HD video...they're all the talk in the video world!

my father in law has a 5d mark ii. i think he is looking to sell it to move up to the 1D, but i think he prefers the form factor of the 5d.  he is an amateur photographer but i'd put him in the semi-pro category myself.

when he moved up to the mark ii, he gave my wife his old canon 5d...not too shabby!  

those cameras are crazy expensive, hell i think one of his lenses cost more than my hobie did.

Now that's kind of silly...buying a DSLR for it's video capabilities.
