I'm not sure who's staying at Mike's Inn - just wait for those watching this post to get back to you on it, or maybe put up a different thread to catch more attention.  Thanks for advocating for the group.   :smt001

I'm pumped up... some great fishing/diving/and to meet some new and old fishaholics....... :smt001

I trolled there Wednesday afternoon from 40-60 FOW and out to about a mile and a half from the launch - no bites, but I was all warm and fuzzy to be back OTW.  The fish are scattered, but they're there!  Shakers and some pretty dinky legal fish are common, and a 10 pounder is a decent potential.  I hope to return this Sunday with Domenic for a more extended session.   :smt007

Bring your ab-aspirations, everyone, because the minus tides in the mornings will allow ANYONE to find some abalone - maybe even in street clothes!  No joke.

and...  not to get ahead of myself, but, if it's flat and the wind cooperates and I don't stay up too late and drink too much on Saturday night...   :smt003  I want to paddle up north of the Cove 2-4 miles to a very special reef that is known for lots of big abs.  The vis may suck, and it may be a washing machine, but there are some hogs up there, and it would be rockpicking or shallow diving at the minus tide.  We'll see if wind and WX allow it.   :smt001

SWEEEETTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I managed to find a reasonably priced 7mm westuit package (had to go 3XL... :smt009) that I was able to buy, and I will work on getting together as much of the other required gear before then as I can....

Will get my card and will keep my fingers crossed!!

Haven't picked an abalone since 2001!!!

Took the MBK kayak class yesterday along with 4 others(I'm horrible with names but it was nice to meet you guy's!) Anyways the class was top notch and Aaron shared allot of useful knowledge both for fishing and safety! Would highly recommend the MBK class to anyone who is thinking about it, you won't leave disappointed!

Yes, I was there as well, and my memory of names is as bad as yours, but now we know 3 out of the five, you, myself and tiny.  I would also highly recommend the class, I had a great time and learned a lot.

In terms of GS4 I guess I am in as well.  I hemmed and hawed for the last month, deciding whether to register and getting out on the ocean in the Saturday class sealed the deal for me.  I just sent in my $25.00 today, so hopefully it will reach Eric by the 15th.  Just about a month left!

No sweat - if someone says they sent it I won't cut them off for a free t-shirt if it arrives a day or two after the 15th.

I'm glad you're coming - WTG on the safety class, Guys.   :smt001

I talked to Aaron at MBK after GS3 about designing a class just for kayak anglers and he developed one h**l of a class. Not just for newbies either, I took it myself and got alot out of it. Thanks for attending and look forward to fishing with you. Scott

Hope it's not too late. Just got clearance from the wife. Check is in the mail today. I'd be up there with my 12 yr old. He wants to catch some abs ;)

If not too late, my T size is Large.

Question on place to stay. Could someone suggest a place? Motel or campground would be ok.

Regarding food, are we pretty much on our own? Is there some sort of a group meal planned?

Sorry for all these questions. This thread is getting too long. Kinda hard to mine info out of.

Can't wait to meet many of you.

- If you like camping, the camground is available.  For Motels: Marina (most economical and close to camp ground), Inn of the lost Coast (NCKA's discounted), The Tide Inn (I think it's completed booked by NCKAers).

- Yes, there'll be a pot luck (bring your fav. dish to share).

Can't wait to meet many of you.
