Skunked at Del Valle and Quarry Lakes in December so Shadow Cliffs was next on the East Bay skunk tour. Launched around 9 AM in foggy and cold conditions, water temp 50 with good clarity. Pulled Rapalas for nada for an hour or so. Decided to make a real close trolling run along the Stanley shoreline and bagged a small 12-13" trout on a J7 firetiger. Molly hadn't seen a live fish in awhile and got pretty excited. She backed up too far toward the bow then had an accident. I won't say she fell in the water because that is not allowed.  :smt005 That was enough excitement for the day and headed home at 1130. Picked up a burger and musubi at a really wierd Chinese/Hawaiian/American restaurant right off of 580. Decent food but really strange menu. Lost a couple of rapalas in the thules but all in all a great day.

Way to lose the kitty Scott.

Never fished Shadow Cliffs.  I've read a lot about it but never been there.

Used to fish shadow cliffs on my float tube. Nice thing about Shadow Cliffs is that the water clarity is hardly affected by the rain. It used to be a rock quarry, hence not a lot of mud.

Thanks for the report Scott. Do they still allow kayaks and foat tubes in the back ponds? Lot's of big bluegills and Bass in there :smt045

Good to see you caught something.

I got otw about 0800 trolled a night crawler behind flashers for about an hour and a half. No bites. Switched to soakin powerbait and a night crawler, same result...

= skunk for me.   Great day OTW though.

Mooch  the girl at the gate told me that East bay regional parks has closed the back ponds to fishing right now... No word on how long that will be...

Martin -

My FF died after 10 minutes so I was fishing blind. Not a big deal until I decided to get real close to the shore and got snagged twice. Molly does throw a lot of spray but most of it goes sideways so not a big deal. The good news is Molly is getting better at climbing back in the boat. I guess practice does make a difference.
