has anyone here seen a leatherback on the coast?  I know that I saw one post that someone had pictures of one, but besides that?

turtles are cool, had some great experiences with them living in Hawaii, Im all for it!

Yes.  But not close to shore.  You do see them on the runs out to the tuna grounds.

i remember a post......2 dead on the shore, or in the kelp beds :smt011 i think it was a central coast beach.

I remember Rocketman & Slo-mo had pics of one from down in Big Sur, dead & floating in the kelp.

It would be really cool to see one of those big turtles while paddling. Who knows, the area around Pigeon Pt brings in some odd critters now & then...

Good news for the turtles! I wonder how it will affect us?
 I saw a turtle off Point Pinos a couple years ago, Couldn't figure out what it was for a while. Wild !

as if you would know ANYTHING about the strange and wonderful critters that hang around the san mateo coast.   :smt002
