I launched at 10 A.M., and spent the first hour in the dead ends of the marina trying to figure out if there are any crappie in there. There aren't. I spent the next hour trying to get a LM to bite, but with slack low tide I was getting no bites and spending most of my time cleaning grass off my lures.
The guy who runs the marina had said that the stipers were biting, so I headed out with a 4 inch soft clear/gray paddletail swimbait by reaction strike.  I got a 16" stripe in the first 10 cast off a grass bed in 4 fow.  10 minutes later I got a 22 inch, man that was fun, and a 18 1/2  within 3 cast of the first.  An hour more in that spot with no hits, and a sea lion showed up and made a bee line for my stringer.  I pulled the fish in the yak and got out of there.  In the next 30 minutes  three more around 16" came in for a picture, at which point I had no more of the swimbaits I had been throwing. Those reaction strike paddletail are really brittle, if you bend them to much when you rig them they rip. I got no more hits on a white shadalicious, and I was getting tired, so I called it a day at 3:00.
On my way out I peddled over the spot where I the last three hit and my fish finder claimed they were still stacked up down there.
Those were my first keeper stripers on a yak.

If you would like some company, let me know the next time you go to the Break.  Where did you launch.  Sounded like BB Marina.  Check out the Shoreline Park, on the right about one block before the marina.

 Grumpy,
I didn't do the shoreline park because I was planning on staying out late and I wasn't sure if the park closes at some point.  I'll let you know when I go again, it should be soon since I usually don't start work each year until mid January or so.
