The area is somewhat protected from NW swells, but it does get nasty there too.  I would still avoid that area if they're forecasting swells over 8 ft.

Thanks for the heads up.  I was gonna paddle out to about 60-80' .  Good to know I can stay close if it gets nasty.

I just realized that Chuck forgot to mention the "FF" malfunctions..after we dropped the traps, we were headed to the green buoy, I was trailing behind as usual, and I looked at my FF just in time to watch it go from 40' to 2', then back to 40' then back to 4'. I told chuck what was happening on the radio, and he just paddled faster AWAY. HUH, about 10 minutes later I finally caught up, and Chuck yells something big was showing up on his FF too. Never did see anything, seal, whale, Dorsal, nothing, but we were left to just wander what it was. I am pretty sure I don't want to know.....
