Been building up the motivation to try out my new yak for a long time. Finally did it today on lake Camanche. I slept in so didn't get on the water until 1pm.

Dropped in and paddled toward the narrows. Drifting a gulp minnow in 20' of water paid off first.

Went to drift the same spot again with power bait.

Chucked more power bait back in.

3 down.

Beached for a few.

Tried to drift that spot a little more for nothing. Got to be go back time. So I put a luckycraft staysee am shad on. Not to much further and I got a take down.... got it to the boat and it wouldnt fit into the net! Fumbled it a couple times... the net rotated and the fish poped off the lure. It sat there stunned a second so I tried to net it again and came up with nothin... lol!

Sunset shots.

That was a great time. I really like the malibu x-13. I cant wait to try it in rough water.

Do your best; and forget the rest! -Tony Horton

Super first day on the water.  The weather looked awesome, the fish were willing and you got to play around with the yak.

Look forward to many more reports!

Michael
