Hello fellow kayak fisherman,
Marin County Parks and Open Space is putting on a Sturgeon Kayak Fishing Derby February 6th at McNears Beach Park in San Rafael Ca. It's a single fish tournament. I will be breaking the classes into only 2, catch and release and non-release. The catch and release will have to be a photo/honor system and the non-release will be by weight, if we have a tie by weight then we will measure the fish from tip of tail to tip of snout.
The Derby begins at 8 am, gate to McNears will open at 7 am, fishing will conclude at 2 pm with the weigh in to follow. We will have a few prizes, included are a couple of reel/pole combos, tackle, tackle boxes, and Marin County Park Year Passes ! There is no fee to participate, only the $5.00 parking fee.
McNears Beach Park has restrooms, showers, picnic areas, a fishing pier, and a nice beach to launch from. I look forward to seeing everyone there, If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to call Ranger Jim at (415) 233-1296. If I dont answer please leave a message and I'll get back to you pronto,
Happy Holidays and Tight Lines,

Ranger Jim

Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.
