I was checking out my neighbors Persimmon Tree and there is a lotta weight on these wires with a storm coming.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

The branches are notoriously weak, even though they can hold a lot of heavy fruit (without wind). One good blow, and the branches could start to snap.

It doesn't matter which ones they are to make persimmon cookies.  My neighbor has a tree and the cookies taste great.

looks like Hachiya, the pointy cottonball mouth kind.  Unless of course you eat them gooey and sweet.  Fuyu are generally flat rather than pointy.

I used to climb trees for PG&E line clearance and it looks like those are phone/cable lines. If they were distribution lines the tree would be "burning" and you would get shocked. The phone lines are well below the power lines, about half way up the pole while the power lines are at the top. The phone line has a half inch dia.high tension cable running though it and will not be bothered by that little tree.
If you're not living on the edge - you're taking up too much space!

My father-in-law lost his beautiful persimmon tree last year exactly the same way. One 30mph gust and the poor thing split in half, right down to the root. :smt010

I say pick 'em & trim it if survival is desired.

nice pics, BTW Mike. That's a nice tree.

Those most misunderstood of the persimmons. They're best eating when they're so soft that they can barely support their own weight...
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...
