glad to know I was thinking correctly when I dug my Sorel caribous out of the closet. toasty toes, check.
I think I'm pretty set up for the temps, I'll just dust off my Alaska fleece. Tent, bag, & pad are all good to go.

tackle however.....anyone care to give me a few pointers on basic lures to bring (it's been years since I fished sweetwater)
I'm thinking a few crappie jigs, kastmasters, and small spinners. Are there catfish for frying in the lake?

there are kitties in there......the 1 steelie i hooked was on a silver/blk shad-rap. I have seen that same lure catch a fat LMB there too. I have hooked SMB & LMB on senkos and a lil'grub type lure.
......and one time at band camp,I fooled one on a diving crawdad lure!

Wow, that is awesome!  I hope to be able to carry all my gear in one shot, but things like firewood or heavy coolers would be a great help hauling that stuff to the campsite!  Can we offer anything for his time, gas, etc?  Be willing to pitch in some beer or $$$!

Mooch you the man when it comes to picking a weekend :toothy2: :cold, just checked the extended forecast looks wet but do-able, another notch for the storm trooper belt :smt003. But what do you really need a good tent a good rain jack and good people to hang with its all good.

Oh yeah!  If you ain't up to 30yrds away, (Or more) You might think that's the wind shaking your tent?  You'd be wrong!  Not even the howling wind & rain will mask the sounds of  the Mooch!

hahahaha....

What's up with the weather Mooch testing for Alaska :smt012
If we get the rain that's predicted that Campground is going to be like a giant Slip"N"Slide Waterfall. Make sure you bring 2 or 3 pairs of waders I'm bringing 1 for each day.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
