At long last, I had always wanted to paddle under the GG.  :smt001

Have a friend who was born and raised (and very proud) in the Bay Area and always gives me hard time about the true meaning of being considered a "REAL SF NATIVE". She always stated that "you're only a true native if you walked across  the GG"  :smt011 :smt002 Well, to this day, I have never "walked the gate" and it's always been a joke between us. Now I got one up on her and sent her these pics...she now considers me a crazy native :smt003

Nice one.  Love the vanity shots, and that crab shot with the GG in the background is classic.   :smt001

How do you feel now that you've paddled "under" the GG?  :smt003  Are you going to do the same for Bay bridge, San Mateo bridge, and Dumbarton bridge too before leaving the Bay area for Alaska?  :smt002

Dude that's awesome..did ya'all launch at baker?

Do the walk man...its worth it, and while you're at it go get an irish coffee at the BV

and no hard feelings on this I hope, but us true SF Natives guard that title carefully...you can be an Honorary Native but unless you were born at SF general forget the "Real" part.

We launched on the beach next to Ft. Point pier, paddled out between Ft. Point and south tower.

:smt005 Not close to being a native at all. I migrated to the Bay Area in 1986. And before that, I was in LA (Santa Monica) for a year. Before that, the Philippine Islands (Manila) :smt001
