Run a nice long shank hook (or khale style) thru them like the p-line squids and I think you got a money bait. Adding a nice hunk of lead in the head and you could replace a swim bait for the bottom hook. Allowing you to fish a shrimp fly or small buck tail jig above. If you could find or make a hook that has a round or oval weight mid shank you could pour the octo around it. a 3 or 4 ounce model would be killer. Kinda like this but way bigger

Thanks Yakhopper.  Been chatting with Mooch.  I better start befriending him now if I'm going to get a shot at fishing Alaska next year.  I'll be making 4 or 5 sizes this being the smallest.  I'm going to be making the head out of lead when it's finished.   What weights would be good for AK.  Thanks Andy

For kayak fishing, up to 8 ounces.  Any more than that is just uncomfortable.  For off a PB, up to 2 pound jigs.

Can you make just a generic skirt that I can put in front of worms or swimbaits?

Those look extremely nice.  You should start with including you baits on the Nor Cal store with the sweatshirts and stuff.

Think about that though if Nor Cal started lures and other stuff like that, the money could fund some really good tournaments! :smt007

My 2 cents,
Mike

Baitnbeer you are right.  On the one hand it's an original idea and I can guarantee you making the molds and what not was not cheap.  On the other every thing they sell is expensive.  I get upset when I see their (very effective in white) eel bait for 14 dollars for a pack of 4 or five in our store.  I'll see what I can do.  Thanks

I made some dabs last year.  I just made some clay masters and a water putty (plaster) mold, sealed with 50/50 elmers glue and water.

They are simple one piece molds.

Hey Andy,

How about a bag-o-paddle tails, for when they get bit off?
