This was mentioned before in another thread but I figured it's worth its own thread so as not to detract any more from a good crabbing report as well as pay respect to the victims and to serve as yet another safety reminder.

The couple who perished were setting crab pots and, per the article: Neither of the victims was wearing a life jacket.

Once again, the other message is to check conditions and don't go when/where it's too messy.

So sorry to hear. Seems like this happens every crab season. 15ft seas shouldn't be fooled with.
