Deadliest Catch Thanksgiving Day

0500--Headed out to the fishing grounds 2000 miles South of the Bering Sea
0730--arrived and things were looking ominous.  Surfers line-up.  Do they know something I didn't take into consideration before heading out.  This is Doran Park after all were all is suppose to be calm.
It was the Banzai pipeline in the house
No Fear
Baited the traps and headed out with a greenhorn (nephew) later to be joined by veteran Jedmo, Sailfish, Joe n Inseine.  Nice crabbing with you guys on this Holiday.
The water settled down by the jettys and got to take home the prize catch.

Very nice great day bet the families liked the harvest

Wow, just that easy, just a ways off the jetty, hmmm may have to try that.

Thanks for the report and pics, some of us had to work todayyyyy.  But I'll be home in time for dinner.

How did the others do?

Nice crabbing with NCKA'ers today.  You guys left at the right time as the weather turned sour in the afternoon when the fog moved in, the wind kicked-up, and the swell was like 10ft high!  Joe and I bailed out around 3pm and it's a major cleaning job afterward due to tons of grass & sea weeds on all the gears!  We got 7 Dungies and some Reds between the 2 of us.  Here are some pictures I took earlier.

Great job guys!  Loved the deadliest catch tie in report  .   I gotta get out to doran again soon!

It got big alright! 2 guys capsized their boat around the corner, both dying. The boat ended up on the sand at salmon Creek. Be safe. We were at the beach just north of you guys walking the dog and you could see the big swells coming in around the outside rock.

As we're leaving the park I saw the Coastguard heading out in a hurry so that's the must be the reason!  Any following-up on the "dying" guys?

It was not a good time to be out in the open.  The jetties were the only thing protecting us but those swells were huuuge.
Sorry to hear about the two guys
