Well, the pressure has cleaned the shallow water out and it was a workout to bag any crabs. Hooked up with Mooch and Shicken around 730 AM at HMB. Around 9-10 AM Lucky 13 joined us. Worked 3 Promar 102's and a Promar hoop on 30-60 minute soaks in 25-40 FOW. Ended up with 5 dungies (released one because it was to close to 5 3/4") and 5 jumbo reds. Had crab salad for dinner and it was great. Really a nice day on the water and great NCKA company.

Joel - will miss fishing with you and will try to make it to Alaska.

Shicken - WTG on the dungie!!!

Lucky 13 - good to see you again. Thanks for helping me pull some traps. Let's hookup at Quarry Lakes.

wow... the water looks real nice. i'm surprised to not see many crab buoys floating out there in the otw shots. I hope those conditions hold up. may have to work a little deeper or farther south to find the crab though.

There was a comi making his rounds just outside the harbor mouth towards surfers beach. I watched him raise his pots for nothing. There was also a second string of pots on the shallower side. Most of the boats we saw were heading out further.

It was really nice being out there with the brows - weather was simply amazing!

First time kayak crabbing, meeting Lucky13, and Great Bass 2.  Good company.

Weather was awesome.

Went through LOTS of undersize dungies before bagging a legal one.  A handful of them were about an eighth of an inch too short.

Scott, thanks for showing me the rope, literally. I'd like to think that I learned something today. I look forward to your future hookups. Glad I had a chance to hang with Mooch and shicken today.

Great pics - nice day & colorful flotilla out there.  :smt004
Scott, thanks for the tip on OPS in OAK for the 102's - I picked up the last 3 of the latest batch today. Better call first if you're going there; they never seem to order enough...

Fred, Melissa, & I gave it a go 2 weekends ago - it was real hit or miss.  A couple traps loaded with big commercial sized ones, but most came up packed with shorts... no real rhyme or reason for the sporadic distribution.  It was spotty to say the least and a minefield of crab pot buoys!

Ten feet ! It will increase to 18' supposedly ! We were told to relocate from lower MacKerricker yesterday as the are expecting 18' seas on Thursday that will make it  over the road by the lake by a foot or two plus another foot of sand on the road also .
