Simple Clams

Being from back east I grew up on Little necks, Quahogs, and steamies.  One thing we used to do back in the day and I recently got back into is just taking some little necks and tossing them on the grill.  As a kid we used an old hibachi that seemed to be everywhere back in the 70's.  Now a days they go on my grill.  Let the clam steam in its own juice until it pops open.  I prefer mine a little more done then some of you so the degree of open is the wider the better for me.  Takes but a few minutes, and varies to how hot the grill is. A drop of hot sauce or two on it and pop in your mouth and it is clam heaven.  I pick up a few the other day , the store guy told me they were from Washington State.  Not to bad, a couple were on the gritty side, but over all good to go.
