new shark attack.

There was a shark attack last night at the mavericks, I saw it on the news, but can't find the link. They stated it was whitey, but it only got ahold the the dudes board, he got away without injury, and a embedded shark tooth in his surfboard, Anyone want to head the HM Bay to do some rock fishing

I saw it on the news this morning.  The surfer is damn lucky the shark only left a tooth in his board and not him.

I cringe at the thought of a GW puncturing my kayak, taking on water, and not being able to paddling back.  

dang ....and I'm suppose to take a newbie friend of mine out to HMB this Saturday. She did mention about her fear of sharks and I re-assured her that the last shark attack at HMB happened a looong time ago. Looks like I'll be taking her to the Redwood City sloughs instead  

depends mooch, is she what you would call a "disposable friend, and does she has a insurance policy with you as a beneficiary, check that first, then head to the right of the breakwater out of the bay

nah...she's cool - happily married to a mountain biker friend of mine. But I'll keep your advice in mind for a future potential victim.....

Brian - I would NEVER hunt with Joe/skyboy. He's a skull collector (and his wife encourages him) - that says it all. I'm sure it will be a one way trip for me if I go out to the boonies with him.

Call me insane but I don't feel the GW really wants to attack a Kayak that is 15ft long. Although I would probably die of a heart attack if I saw one circle my yak.

Jason - I think if the "land lord" is hungry enough, he'll eat what he can get to right away....regardless of how small or how big the would-be victim is   That surfer just happen to be on it's path to the "kitchen"
