I did not have to much time and decided to fish close to home. There was a fair bit of surf for the launch so I left the camera in the car. I ended up have one of my better days of the season with 3 legal lings, and 3 cabs. I have read about so many guys doing the catch and release thing and typically always keep my lings for fish tacos...today was different. I only kept one fish all day which I new would feed the family and left the rest of the fish for next season....Thanks for the inspiration and it was a great feeling letting a couple beauties go! I also caught a mixed bag of other rockies...until next season.

Bingo!  Way to go, Small Fish.  None of us are perfect, and some go fishing much more or much less than others, so there's no formula for who should keep one, none, a limit or whatever.  We just need to see the sport move more toward that kind of great feeling (IMO!).  Nice one.   :smt001

Abking nailed it...More GREAT FEELINGS!

I almost always release my first fish of the day- regardless of the size (halibut and salmon excepted). Totally cool to see them swim away.

Nice job Bro

Some so cal fishing is in our future. Heading down next week sending the rest of my days off till the end of the year down there gonna get some bugs and more rockfish and a wsb or yt. We will have to fish flatties in the near future off of SS or avila. SS gets deeper quicker so probly gonna be a better option on a nice warm winter day if we get any without swell and wind combo.
