Patrick and I ended up north with a couple of other fellers for a bit of  river fishing. The first afternoon we did some scouting. The next morning  we launched on a beautiful stretch of river after much indecision.
I was a couple minutes ahead of the two others and thought I would drag a plug upstream to a hole I thought held fish. Less than ten seconds after deploying the lure I thought I snagged the bottom....then the "bottom" tugged back in a BIG way! This fish was all power...dragging my kayak where it wanted with me in tow. Eventually I got sight of the prize and my heart really started pounding. My adversary did it's best to wear me down and I did my best to let the fish tire enough to get it in shallow for a couple quick pictures (thank you Patrick) prior to the release. It all happened soooooo fast I was in total disbelief. A bit later I was lying on my back on the beach taking a much needed breather when I yelled out the the others...If I wake up from this dream and I am still in bed I am really gonna be pissed!
I ended up going three for five for the weekend with a couple other good take downs. The weather was crazy...one minute applying sunblock and later dodging freezing rain in a twenty knot plus wind. It was another great adventure with outstanding company...they get to  tell there own tales.

Yes I second that. Allen the first pic is just a doozy. Like dreaming and the hand touches the sky. Way cool.
