Epic Mission Abking! I think the most impressive part is that you pulled it off without BEER!!! That seems like the kind of adventure that is just begging for a couple cold ones to suck down by the fire waiting for the gear to load up.

Nice job earning your early season crab.

Nice report and pics! Looks like you have the survival skills to start a fire :smt044 In Alaska i learned to carry strips of intertube as fuel to start damped wood on fire. Good Job I'm jealous again :smt003

Nice, we did the opener at Humboldt Bay Coast Guard inside the bay, did about the same half limit. Just finished up dinner, with much satifacion all the way around. No pics and the bar is lumpy as hell, There was 100 people out watching the waves. Low tide was fine but when I went back at 2 for the pots the bay was roughed up as well. Fish and Game was out early, very professional and polite. Checked paperwork and crab, then moved on.

Good times up north, more to follow Im sure.

Yep - tasty tasty fresh crab with ravioli's and red sauce - yummmmmm!   :smt007  Tomorrow my stepmother's going to make her famous crab cakes - oh yeah!!!

I went back down to the mouth today just after high tide around 2PM - the inlet of the mouth was rough but it was beautiful out.  There were people around crabbing, hunting and just enjoying the sunny beach.  I worked 3 pieces of gear for an hour or so and picked up one more jumbo that was eaten with the ravioli's.  Damn that stuff's good!   :smt004

Hi Eric,

About the last picture posted, are you trying to cook the Dungis using "solar" power?   :smt003
