11/6/09 - ben and the boys

meet 6 year old josh and 8 year old jake.

we headed down to santa cruz to fish the local reefs. we already had a south wind and there was news of some big swells headed out way.  not a good combination for rockcod fishing, but we went anyway.

jake stuck a black rockfish first, with an assist from his brother.

the kids didn't last long, though.  the big swells took their toll and the kids were vomiting in no time.  i gave them some chewable dramamine and it just knocked them out.

we stuck around for another half hour and called it day.  our total was four small rock fish in 2 hours.  very slow bite with lots of fish on the meter.
