If it's within 30 days and you have your receipt, you will not have to pay, but your kayak is still subject to inspection.

Yup, inspection every time but you only have to pay once every 30 days. I just keep my receipt in my glove box so I don't forget it.

Thanks, that's what I thought.  But, was not sure if I heard that from the inspector.  Hope I can find my receipt.

ohhhhh.  is that different than the santa clara county?  sc county tags your boat, also no repayment of fees w/in 30, but do they reinspect?  they probably should, it would make sense

Don't get me started on this, Martin...  (too late)

 :smt044

I showed up at Del Valle with a kayak that had been tagged at Anderson, and the DV rangers were all WTF???  like I did something wrong.  I was also told 15 days at one point.

I have to conclude the inspection process is different county to county, and sometimes lake by lake.

I may go. I tried last Sat. but was turned away. Left my dry boat on top of the truck overnight and that was enough for it to be "damp" inside. The only opening was a one inch hole from an earlier FF mount. Sealed the hole dried the inside with a heater and kept the yak inside overnight. Passed inspection on Sunday. first boat on the water by 6:30. Not many boats out. Only saw 2 other fishin yak. The Osprey, Cormorants and bank fishermen were catching fish but didn't see any boated. All 3 yakers were skunked. They have stocked a few tons of trout over the last few weeks, so maybe it will break loose this weekend.

Michael, thanks.  I have the double rod stamp.  Just got it last week when I was fishing for sturgeon.  I wasn't sure if its okay in the lakes.
