Old footage making the rounds, I bet some of you have seen this. I broke my chair watching this one. Its good to have a little dose of reality of just how close you can be to home when it hits the fan....
Enjoy

This surfaced on the Humboldt Tuna Club website.

That is so hairball!  I can't imagine the feeling of relief once they got in the harbor.  Cool vid.

In the early eighties we drove to Fort Bragg from Willits just to look at the swells that were in the 25ft. range. They were so big that a lot of the boats could'nt get into the harbor because they didnt have the horsepower to get over the swells. It was scary to watch them try. I cannot imagine a forty foot swell. This was Thanksgiving weekend. Wish I would have taken pics.

Unless you're around a reef close to home is usually where you get it, and it can come up in a pretty short space of time

best thing to do when you arrive is get down on your knees and give the beach a big smooch

You have to wonder why they don't either head to another harbor or go offshore and drop anchor

Wow!! I'd give that captain a bonus!
I wonder what happened to the boat behind him?

"You better get a pump out to him"

Wow...  Watching it again I now notice the two guys on the back of the boat after it righted itself.  CRAZY!!!!
