I would be very cautious about eating anything from the inner harbor. That is some of the dirtiest water in the state.

well a chance of plans, since i have a boatload of excited kids looking forward to tommorrow, i am going to take the alumium boat to big river in Mendo and find a spot somewhere on that esturary to drop my nets.

Its going to be a zoo there, but the kids will have fun sorting lots of undersized crabs and who knows might even get a few legals, so look for a boat full of kids and thats me.

I don't think the water in the harbor is worse than anywhere else. Think about it - it's a super shallow bay that pretty much gets completely flushed out on low tides....except for the channal.

The spot you are referring to is the Campbell Cove area, which is consistantly ranked in the top five dirtiest beaches in the state due to stellar levels of E-coli from all of the seagull, pelican, seal, and sealion s**t. You're probably more likely to get sick there from getting pinched by a crab than you are from eating its meat.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...
