Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but next weekend is looking like a disaster on the ocean.  Wednesday and Thursday look like the calm before the storm...

Here's Stormsurf's current view of Saturday the 7th:

Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Good. I'll be looking for your report as it will cheer me up after working M-F with zero chance of catching those last 3 abs to finally fill a card. The vis was very good on Sat. jim

Inshore definitely doesn't look AS bad on NWS for Friday anyway...

CAPE MENDOCINO TO PT ARENA OUT 10 NM- 829 AM PST MON NOV 2 2009
.FRI...S WIND 10 KT...BECOMING W. WIND WAVES 2 FT OR LESS. NW SWELL 12 TO 15 FT. SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN.

The forecast does do flipflops, so keep watching it, but if you can go Wednesday evening or Thursday morning I'd say you're Golden.

I'm planning to be in the water Wednesday from sometime after lunch until dark.  It's too long a drive for most, but I welcome company.  Hopefully Dom's down for it.

This updated map of Saturday is starting to look surreal...

So much for the crab opener.  Crabbing in the bay it is.

That is one ugly graphic.

Even if you could get out, dungies hunker down when there's a lot of surge.  I've had best results on calm days.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.
