Let RockFish Season go by with Taking the Family out to the Salt Water Training Grounds of Tomalas,

Loaded for Bear with light rods for chasing down bait, and the Heavy stuff for whatever,

Alas, after Training session of setting up yaks, FF, etc etc...
( Time well spent for the future... :smt002 ) not OTW till 1pm,

It appears the Bait has slimmed out a bit, I know we got out here late, but I did not find much, some birds crashing around, but I think they were following the same school...  A few PBs.... Blanked...   :smt009

Again Kool getting the Family out on the Water,
and this time, getting closer to the Big Blue,

Nice to Hang at the secluded Beach on the West Side and Chill...

then off to Nicks for Lunch... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!

Good Times, I think next year has much Promise....  :smt004 :smt061 :smt052

Nice training session!  The water looks a little chopy must be due to the wind in the afternoon.  Thanks for sharing Don.

Beautiful day on the bay Don. Dang, you guys are all over the place these days. Good for you. I know the place well. In your 5th pic that little rocky point right behind your wife I surprised my daughter one day saying' look at the little clam hole", then I proceeded to stamp the groung by it and a stream of clam water shot right into her face. It sounds cruel but we all laughed till it hurt. Thanks for jogging that memory back to life. Tomales is just special. When you get to the other side it feels like you are on a distant vacation. One little nap on those sunny beaches does much good for the soul. You are are a lucky man.

Thanks for the pix and outing report!   Tomales is one of my wife and daughters favorite places to go and paddle,.. esp if there are some oysters and halibut tacos in it for them!  :smt004  We usually go up a bit further to the Marshall Store as its a bit less $$$ and I love how you have to sit outside at wine barrel tables if you want to drink a beer with lunch.  fawnky!    So much to explore in the bay and it looked like you guys had a great day of it!

It's a Herculean Feat putting this all together, all the way to Fish Finders and what the attack will be on the fishing front...  But...

 It  SOoooOOoooo Worth it....

Seeing them put together their fish finders
and most of the rigging today was Awesome  :smt007

Totally awesome, Don.  You're so on the right track right now with the family yakfishing ideals!

I would say, though, that your next step (and big purcha$e  :smt003) will be to get all of them "dressed for immersion".   :smt056  I know you have a plan for safety and am confident you'd be fine how you were in the event of a mishap, but you'd have unhappy campers with doubts of future adventures if one of 'em (especially mama!   :smt010) dunked and started shivering.

Don't get me wrong - I'll have my family in that formation ASAP.  You're the man!   :smt001

nice report Don. I know how much work it is just taking one kid on the water. Patience and endurance must run thick in you veins. I too ate at nick's cove once. The meat in those oysters is a joke. I pick boogers bigger than that. If you plan on keeping the entire family properly outfitted for immersion, you better get second job.

I'm with ya... and of course my disorder for thinking of every possible thing that can go wrong or want to have OTW, keeps me packing like a Over compulsive Ferret.....

They have " Immersion  "  equipment, Packed in the Trailer, They just don't want to wear it, They will understand the need as we go along ....

Whoa Danglin that does look like a ton of work compared to a solo adventure. Maybe three time more work! :smt005

Good for you getting them out there like that! If you were there about a month ago it was wide open sardines which would have been perfect for the family.

Thanks for the report and the inspiration!

Awsome pics Danglin. How old are the younguns? My guy is 10 and really digging the yak fishing this fall - though we've been targeting only small game so far. Maybe we can hook them up some time. I know he'd like that.
