met up with baja_reefer (steve) around fort ross to do a little fishing before the season ended , water conditions were great and the fishing acion was pretty constant , on the first drop i nailed a decent ling which was nice and me and steve both were nailing rockies all day , i was targeting bigger fish so i was throwing alot back but steve would anchor up on the kelp to get nonstop action on decent to smaller blacks , as my big fish dreams started fading away i hopped on the bandwagon and tried to feel my stringer but at that point the bite slowed down and all i could pick up was gophers, a china , about 3 smaller lings and some blacks but i had my ling so i didnt care :smt001 put some major hours on the water with steve , started about 8 and didnt get off the water till about 430?
great day on the water though with a cool fishing partner , my next thing is gonna have to be diving because im not cool with the whole ocean off season thing!

Well done Andy!  Man I wish I could have fished this weekend for the closer.  You had a fantastic first year on the kayak brother!  After Thanksgiving, lets add sturgeon to the list on our yaks!

Hey Andy,
Glad you and Steve got out there! The coast up there is beautiful, especially underwater! Get that wetsuit now.
Good job fishing, sounds like an exciting day.

Nice job out there. You couldn't ask for a better day and wish we only had more days left too fish. I'm not sure why we get closed on Oct 31 and down south stays open till 15th plus they get to start earlier? Oh well hopefully it will help the fishing out. Glad you had a great time and I should have stayed out there longer too since the travel back acroos the bridges was the only bad part of the day. Let me know if you head out in the Delta and maybe we can hook-up. Till then tight lines
