Even though I knew it was low and clear I couldn't stay away from the River. It was also a chance to perfect my float technique. I also got a release sequence on a super shiny small adult. When they are ready they come in and just lay there, no flopping around.
I learned a couple things. Re-tie, re-tie, re-tie! I lost a fish cuz I was lazy and didn't check my knots and such. It was a brute that I had on for 10 minutes and never saw.
I also learned that if a hole looks like you might hookup, PUT THE YAK IN! I hooked 2 fish right away because I couldn't wait to put the yak in. The one in the pics is one of them. They weren't upgrades so no big deal anyways. It's nice to bank it too.
The river closed while I was there so I spent some time in the tidewater and released some there too.
I learned some stuff there as well.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Nice pics and a pretty fish.

For floats I use some thick foam backing, paint the top red or orange and use rubber bands around the float to keep it snug on the line. Easy depth adjustment that way too.

Jigs or roe for salmon and a pink worm works well for steel.

The fishing was so good I thought I was there yesterday!

UMMM those salmon are a protected fish and not suposed to be fished for. Pics like that can get me warden after you.

On that note are there a lot of salmon coming into the river and moving up?
