Jai Ling Ling Rocket Boi Pimp! Congrats! :blob3: :blob1: :blob10: :blob5: :blob6: :blob7: :blob8: :blob9:
I wouldn't go so far as to call a lingcod filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a lingcod's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Don't worry Keo - as long as you didn't touch the Mola Mola you'll be OK.

Bad karma to harass or attempt to catch a sunfish. But if it took your bait w/out you knowin...well, there's nothing you can do about that.
I've seen em about 2 dozen times (only 1X from yak though) but never seen anybody catch one, ever. You working a small jellyfish imitation swimbait or what?  :smt044

Nice report, at least the part I could understand. Must be a generational thing. :-) Anyway it is nice to have some new enthusiasm in the group and congrats on your first ling. From a medical perspective however, the cherry can only be popped once, not once per species. :-)

OK, Jai boi,

Lay the mola mola on its side, take a knife and pierce the thick skin right between the eye and fin, continue to cut a circle around the fish, like you were cutting out a plate, then you get a grip of the skin near the initial cut and pull it off going towards the tail. Once this is accomplished you will see the meat and guts. Be care full not to puncher the green biol sack. The meat looks like raw lobster meat and is cooked by simmering or steaming.

When i first learned of this many, many years ago from an old Japanese fisherman at the Monterey wharf he told me to wrap it in foil put some holes in it and boil some water with salt and sugar and drop it in for a few minutes. It came out just like lobster meat it was one of those Poormans Lobster dish.

Let us know how it turns out for you :cook
