How heavy are you and your stuff?

I would take every oportunity to rent one down at Monterey and see how it feels to you.  Try a 140 and 160 as well.

I would recommend either the 140 or 160 if your planning on ocean fishing. Better to try them both out before you pull the trigger. You can do so at MBK for cheep. Nows the time to buy used rentals if that's what your looking for.

I have a Tarpon 120 2007 and it handles really well. Decent speed, tracks fairly well and it's pretty light. I mainly use mine for fishing stripers and salmon and have no problems. I rigged a couple flush mounted rod holders behind the seat and a scotty rod holder up front between my legs and have been really happy with the setup. For me I can only compair the 120 with the OC scrambler XT, those are the only yaks I have paddled.
