Keo I would recomend renting gear to make sure you like it before you purchase everything for diving. I rented twice from Steeles dive shop in Oakland. He has kind of funky hours and the shop is a bit disorganised but he is super nice dude and really knows whats up about diving. Also his prices are very cheap and he rents stuff weekly versus most places that charge you per day.

Good luck with your search!

I might be up for going - I'd prefer to launch north of PP where Keo, Baja and I hit it up last time, but am flexible.  Let me know when you fix a day.

I have Sunday free only. I'd like to do the "N o' PP launch" as well, if the swell permits it. That way I can say I am not fishing BH, plus I'd get to fish with Mike for once :smt003

One warnning, it is the Pumpkin Festival weekend in HMB, so traffic may be sick on Sat & Sun. for you guys coming from the north.

Not to be Debbie Downer but the wind forecast is pickin' up Sun.
Best chance to beat the wind - get out there early as possible . . .

 SUN
NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 6 FT.
W SWELL 4 TO 6 FT. PATCHY FOG. SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN.
Catch & Repeat

Eliots right about Jim Steele at Steeles.
All around good guy and closer to your place.
Tell him we sent ya.
He knows me as the "tropical fish guy."

Bad weather mid week again and so the next abalone date would be the next weekend.
Tomorrow looks like better fishing !
 Whadaya think?

I'll risk my neck but the weather has to be better for me to do it, so at least I can enjoy myself... :smt044
