a month ago...me and catchbackbreaker were in the back yard talking about yaking...a bunch of kids were
were running around having fun...all of a sudden we heard a car accident. we all looked over the wall. well one of the kids..did not know that there was a ocean kayak lying on it's side. as they stepped on it....he put his foot right through the hull....i felt so sad, now that i know my yaking day is put on hold. dont want to yak alone..is there any way to fix the hull? :((

What did a car accident have to do with stepping on the kayak? If the kayak was on its side, how do you step through the hull?

If a kid's foot can punch right through the hull that kayak was unsafe to begin with.  Trying to fix it is utterly stupid and putting your life (and potential rescuers lives) at risk.

If the hull was brittle enough to step thru, then it would probably not be a good idea to try and fix it, plastic gets brittle after long exposure to the sun, sounds like this yak need to be recycled.

i'm gonna have to agree, if a kid could put his foot thru it then that thing was done already. you don't wanna be sitting on the water and have the thing crack right in half.

Just guessing here but maybe it was an old fiberglass hulled yak and the 'car crashing' noise was the kid's foot going on thru? jim

Stuff it with pool noodles and put it on craigslist. List it as an experimental kayak.
