Past 24 hours - Ben Lomond got just over 10 inches!

Honeydew, the Humboldt equivalent of the Santa Cruz mountains rain-sponge, only got 4", so it just wasn't as much of an event up here.

It's easy to say that it rained all day but today it literally rained all day.  Had my classroom door open and was outside several times - not once did it stop.  Crazy stuff, we (San Jose) received over 2 inches.  Not to mention, it didn't start until 3 this morning.  I was under the impression that it was supposed to start early last night.

It's too bad that it didn't come down over a longer period of time so the ground could absorb more.  I'm sure plenty was caught behind dams though.

I just came home to three rose trees knocked over, an uprooted hydrangea and debris just all over the place in the front yard.  That's 240 clam in landscaping down the drain dammit.  Should have battened down the hatches cuz I knew it was gonna be BAAAAAD.  hopefully the worst has passed

Ben Lomond is where we live and it was almost 11".

But, I'm in North Carolina this week, so my wife and daughters are dealing with it.. It was raining so hard that the 4" PVC drain pipe in the cul de sac area in front of the garage could not keep up, and the garage was a pond...

Just saw the news this morning, there were some isolated spots of 15" to over 20" in the SC mountains, Portola Valley was 15+.  At my house in usually mild Martinez it rained for 14 hr without a break.  :smt001

My 20 minute commute became an hour as Empire Grade was closed, so I had to take hwy to bonny doon road and come up the back way (past the sasquatch crossing sign).
A few big Douglas firs came down on the road, but they had already been cut through. I was stoked I'd just put new tires on the CR-V since there were long stretches of uphill with 6" of running water flowing across the road. Lots of debris. No power loss though! No internet access this morning, but that's pretty small damage potatoes compared to the January 2008 3-day slammer we had.
No rainfall total yet, but I'd guess 8" plus

My buddy in the SC mntns put out a gauge at 8am, and by 1 pm it overflowed @ 5". He said he had only measured 1/3 of what had fallen. Trees down everywhere.

rain rain stay today, and come again another day! and another, and another....................

Heard  a rumor there were a good number of Jacks returning in the Sac  :smt003
