Was great fishing with you guys - I'd welcome it again any time.  Steve - that was a great Halibut - there are plenty of them there, seemingly year round.

Steve nailed it, I caught some big fish, lost most of them next to the boat (that was OK, sort of).  Let most of them go, but gave a few away to my friend the Rocket.  Had one I couldn't get up from the bottom - I'd take 5-10 feet, then lose it, then repeat.  5 minute tug-of-war while Keo patiently waited to help out.  Then snap.  I need new line, and my drag washers are shot.  Something I'll fix before the next trip.  I also got stabbed in the bicep by a rockfish I was letting go, and how have a 5" diameter itchy red patch.  Pretty cool.

What was amazing was how many BIG fish are in the water right now.  And we didn't have a clarity problem - water was crystal clear.  I think we were right in the middle of the red tide from the north and the south.

Keo - I'll send you a link for the lure I was using.  It was smoking...

Haha Please do call me a copy cat or watever but evidently you was on fire haha lol Jai Boi I want wat you GOT haha hey im still a newbie when it come to fishing the ocean so outta my defense its okay to imitate haha and Thanks again Mike for the Fat Cabbie and to me a BIG Ling LIng

Good job guys! Mid-air pics would be awesome! :smt044
I wouldn't go so far as to call a lingcod filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a lingcod's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

The day before we fished Jaws...alone and had a perfectly calm day with the bite very good in the afternoon.
The baby ling would make a great aquarium fish. We released him and a dozen other rockfish that day and kept a limit to build the stock for the winter. Two of the limit were lings!
Keo worked two days straight and fished earlier in the week as well.
I think he put in more hours at sea this week then at work.

I was on the BH list as well but woke up feelin' crappy, so had to call it.  :sad4:  Still hopin' to make it out there at least once more this year...
