Glad to hear nothing serious had happened. Way to keep your cool Sean. If that was
me, I may have paddled my butt off the water like there was no tomorrow. :smt044

Sounds like everybody landed some quality fish. Congrats to all.

Sean I think your a Shark attractant  :smt005 :smt005 :smt005, boy I dont even wanna see it again, they told me when I was in the water I would have been happy just sitting on the shore.. What an experience! Glad you pulled through and kept fishing. My girlfriend brought up sharks this morning, then I went to Pigeon Point with a crew of 4 to do some spearfishing. Bad vis, and creepy feeling underwater today.

Incredible story!!! The pics were good, but  the drawings was great. I think  you did the exact right thing staying calm; it must have been REALLY hard when he was behind you (no pun intented). I always said i'd stay fishing if I happened to see Mr Whitey, but after reading your post???????? Glad you guys had a great trip and seeing a shark like that----PRICELESS!

You got that right. Insane. Reading that gave me The Fear and I'm sitting on dry land in an office 6000 miles away. I have a strong urge to sit up on my desk and start paddling even further inland. Loved the drawings. Hope The Fear doesn't kick in later. I don't think I'd forget that for a long time.

Take care you guys!

Sean... thanks for the account and way to remain calm.  Glad everyone is OK.  I think the entire month of October should be sponsored by Sharkshield.

Wow   :jawdrop !!  Like Brendan said...I got chills just reading this. I am glad you guys are allright. That would have definitely freaked me out, and to think you guys remained fishing. My hats off to you guys. Not much you can do from a kayak but remain calm and paddle slowly I guess. My brother and I fished Half Moon Bay on Friday and I had some weird vibes about being out there especially with the murky water and red tide. I almost told Gabe that I think we should just fish the harbor but figured I was just being skitish. We stopped at a beach down south on our way home and spoke with Adam and Ben via radio from the shore. I though Adam mentioned they saw a shark but I quickly dismissed it and didn't acknowledge that is what he said. Maybe it was a defense mechanism for me. I want to fish that area some day and just couldn't make it this weekend. Good job on catching fish and keeping the landlord at bay. Love the drawings of the encounter!!

Northern Boy -  I know you would have paddled towards Sean to lend a hand. I remember reading the account of you paddling towards Abking when he was yelling at a seal and you thought it was a shark. I hope all is well.
