martin (bennetdanville) hobiedave and I launched from Benecia's 1st beach on tues morning in search for the stripers.

caught the current beyond Carquinez  bridge and worked the pilings and break water the to Napa River..

no hookups  for any of us although we enjoyed the tranquil flat water for the early morning..
hobiedave shared some tasty smoked halibut / mackeral and martin provided the brews in the post trip parking lot.

no action along the shoreline either so I guess we are still awaiting the big push by the stripers into the delta.

That's quite a distance you guys paddle to Napa break water.  Thanks for the report Dave.

should have had this report before I moved my boat all the way up there!  when I moved my boat the other day from Sausalito to Benicia there was a party boat and a few others working the point pinole side of the bay.  it was FAC and I immeditaly hooked a striper using a shiner, but that was it.  It looked very fishy with lots of marks on the meter.  not sure where you would launch from to get out there though?

Dave Your post on a non productive trip was well done. I can see where all info helps. Looking forward to future productive trips with you two.

Thanks for the report Dave. That was some trip. Lots of ground you folks covered.
Sorry none of you caught any fish. But I'm sure Dave's smoked fish and Martin's
super duper homemade brew was worth it all. :smt003

Dave,
Thanks for posting the report.  Nicely done!  My back is improving and I hope to be ready for the next Striper hunt whenever you guys are ready to try again.  I also replaced the battery in the Honda so I won't have to rely on tripple A to get home.
