so around 5 this afternoon i decide to load the boy and the yak and head op the mad river slough,we packed light one heavy rod, one medium rod and some bait . We paddled up to the oyster beds and docked the yak. Tossed out a chunk of squid and he took over, 15 Min's later this little beauty took the bait. He cranked him in ( i had to pull the line towards the reel, he had a tough time cranking my big rod) we got some pics and then he did his own C@R. Love fishing with my boy!

That is really cool to take him out like that, great start.Mine was 3 when he caught his first 3lb striper out of the Sac.. He couldn't reel either so he put the pole over his shoulder and ran up the hill, the next thing you see a fish come out of the water and take off up the hill.good day
