For owners of Toyota and Lexus cars, there is an upcoming recall of driver's side floor mats. Very real potential of injury because of the mats.

Here's the 911 call from the family that was killed which I am sure prompted the recall. Bone chilling and NOT for the feint of heart.

There are swiveable latches on the bottom of the mats that clip into recesses in the floor of the car, that keep the mat from sliding up and covering the accelerator pedal. But their easily dislodged. I am constantly refastening them. I will remove the mat before leaving work today.

I bought a tacoma in july.  The radio is defective.  According to forums it is not an isolated incident.  The radio turns on and off at will.  Its on back order from the factory.  Its six weeks and counting.  how can toyota let brand new autos off the lot with known problems?  what a frustrating thing.  Now a mat recall.  Im a japanese auto fan but toyota is resting on its reputation because most american auto companies are in trouble.  They better straighten up.  Do you folks think I should ask for something for the hassle?  Im not trying to change the thread.
