Got a rare chance to get out and kayak fish for the weekend!
Went down to Huntington Lake, located 1.5 hrs East of Fresno at about 7000' elevation.

Trolled for 6 hrs on Sat for no fish, didn't even see any caught from a boat.
Later that evening my buddy scored and released a 12" Rainbow planter from our launch/camp area - which was not far from the nice restaurant and even nicer rustic bar (w/bigscreens) :smt007

Sun. got up after a star filled sleep, and looked out at the water from our dirtbag camp to see a lot of fish rising in the coves close by.

Jumped in the yak and trolled 10 or so laps around the inlet and nearby coves, through boiling swirling morning rises, even tossing a bubble and fly combo - again for nothing.

Decided to break and go to the bar for a Bailey's & Coffee and some pancakes eggs & NFL :smt044

Feeling unsatisfied with the fishing score I jumped in the Scrambler again and paddled out across the lake to the closed Boy Scout camp to start the last troll of the trip.

Drug a Rapala broken back rainbow pattern for about 3 miles for nothing, again.

Then in the remaining 200 yds of my trip, I notice my buddy motioning to me, I remove my mp3 player's headphones from my ear to hear him say "Hey you better check your rod dumbass" :smt044

Sure as shiite I see my Ugly Stick pulsing, grab it and reel in a 12" Rainbow, YEE FN HAW!
I was stoked to get into a fish!

The day almost over, I throw my lure behind me for the remaining 75 yards of troll back to camp. Just about as I'm ready to tell my friend to let me know when I've got a fish again -  :smt005 - a stocky 16" Brown slams the Rapala and gives his all in a classic High Sierra battle ending with me getting him to pose for a picture before parting ways. :smt004

In all what a pretty lake with trout, cool amenities and few crowds!

Beautiful fish and beautiful lake.  It was one of the most redeeming things about the 2 years I lived in Fresno when I was young!
