Shot up to Verona after work today, Worked the mouth, picked up schoolie stripers and small smallmouth till " Mama " SmallMouth Rocked my Light set up, got her while I was working up the Feather.  Very Kool...  :smt007

There have Got to be some Hawg Smallies in Here....

Throwing Crankbaits, Crawdad Raps, Lipless Yozuri Gold Black, There are nice Stripers running thru here, just could not get the Big Guys to stick...

30"ers +/- coming up to the Yak, even hitting the Bait, but no luck, even tried the suspending pointer, same thing... had my chances 4x that I know of...   Very frustrating   :smt013

But, Great to get some love and Great Day one the water,

And one thing I really Love about the Yak...  Being eye level with the shore and finding some Great Lost Baits!!!!   :smt007

$10 launch at Verona... exact change Please   :smt004

Another Thing,,,, This is where they are starting.. I think...  The Second Levee...  Trucks with Dirt, one after another all day...

Massive Work going on, not sure if this is the levee that is going to be backing up the old one on the Sacramento/Sutter county side, or if the Peripheral Canal is already taking shape.   :smt108

great report and pictures, very jealous!  Love reclaiming lost lures myself!   How do you like having the fish finder on the forward hatch?

Works really well,  as long as you don't need to mess with it...  I just leave it in " Auto "

and all is well,  GPS wave points, your probably gonna have to do something else...

Right where they have the marina used to be a prime slot for the shad to swim up.
How bad was the current?
Much of the sand bar showing?

Current was very Doable, the sand bar at the mouth is not showing, but very shallow, and the Feather is very shallow with many sand bars showing, the North side is the only fish-able side
