I went out this afternoon before whatever in hell NOAA says is coming and they better be right DAMMIT. The water was choppy and swell was building. Visibility was 4-5 ft tops in 20 to 25ft of water. Managed a limit with the big one under 10. Not good diving conditions for sure. But then again not bad for the location. Just a couple of pics. Hi REDYAK!

PS, doesnt allens new stickers look cool?

Fat abs for sure Craig nice job! I'm a total noob to this ab stuff and only dove for the first time last month up at salt point. I gotta say it was actually pretty fun and I'm super bummed about how much prime areas are being swallowed up by the mlpa bull@#%$. Our average ab was maybe 8 inches and our biggest was probably 8 1/2". I can't imagine what a ten incher looks like underwater!

Nice ab craig.  I ALMOST took the day off work and headed up that way.  Instead, I slept in and went to work.

Not too bad for an old guy.   :cook
Good that you beat out the storm, its coming. They just posted small craft advisories all up and down. Surf forecast for my area is overhead to double overhead by Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Time to break out the board and get it done.

Craig,

That is a hog abalone. Have been meaning to hit that spot, but it's been too rough. Run the trail there once a week and always see the potential. Guess I'll wait til in calms down a bit and give it a go.

Thats' a dandy buddy.  Did you see very many abs.  I have dove Shell Beach and Schoolhouse Beach...not many abs but there are some big ones.  Gotta take a dive light and get down under boulders.

I found some new structure on this dive. Boulders the size of cars all tumbled on top of each other. Dark recesses, way back in. On a calm day I would go in but with the ground swell I just didnt want to get pushed back in too far. That happened to me once and I had to wait for the back flow from the swell to pull me out. That day still sends shivers down me spine.
