Hello all.

I just finished siliconing in the transducer in my new Mini-X (bad little boat might I add!). Anyway I took it out to the lake to make sure I didn't do something stupid like mix up the terminals or put the transducer in upside down.

Anyway, for the first time I just put the wires out the middle of the rectangular hatch and the hatch closed (with a little persuading) over the wires. However there's these kinks in the wires now.

Questions:

Will this practice do permanent damage to either the hatch or the wires?

Should I just drill out a hole like I did on my other kayak? If so, is there a neat way to run the wires cleaner than just through a hole in the deck?

Thanks!

if the wires look 'bent' at a steep angle, they will eventually break or short out.  Probably when you need it most and repair is not possible.  Murphys law

These plastic connectors are the shiz.  I use the 1/2" which bites down on the cable nicely.
