Top Anglers will be for longest single fish (Trout/Kokanee).

So Bass, Catfish, etc ...  aren't in the running?

Iroelikethat,

It would be a lot clearer if you read the whole first post:

"Fisherman's Warehouse
Kayak Gathering
Bass Lake
September 20, 2009"

Hope this helps you

Nope, the event for bass was the Tiki Lagun hook-up back in June.  There was never a catfish event and rightfully so. :smt003

Super stoked as I know I'll be learning lots about kokanee - I never knew to jig for them.  Time to start gearing up.

That's fine. The recent ocean events are the first I've taken part in where it was just "the longest fish" (mostly), so I was surprised. Better get my trolling groove on  :smt003

I don't know, I think I read a 20 pound channel was caught in Bass lake... *that* would be a ton of fun!

Yeah, and you'd better get your downrigger groove on too. :smt044   From talking to Eric at the Davenport event, I guess, once you find them, you can practically sit on top of them and jig for 'em.

Oh, no doubt, but I am not the guy to sit and wait for the fish to come to me.  I like trying to find them! :smt003   And I was half kidding with the comment about catfish not being worthy of a competition, hence the emoticon in the original post.

Are there Stripers in Bass Lake? If so, then I am in WAF permitting.

Just a thought,
Would it be best if we used a total of your three longest fish at check in?
Any input would be appreciated.

top 3 fish would have a little more skill attached to it rather than getting one lucky one.

either way is fine, i'm never the type to worry about winning first prize.

Would people recommend Oakhurst for a stay?  I recall staying at the Best Western and fishing Bass Lake, so I'm thinking its doable.

How do you think I won the Tiki Lagun event.  :smt003

Regarding Eric's question, I'm easy like Sunday morning.  I truly don't care either way - although if we do go 3 biggest fish, I'm changing my tactics. :smt004   The original format gives both novices AND non-locals a better chance.  Eric's proposed change makes it more challenging but I'm willing to put my trout/koke skills up against the best.

Heck, if you really want to make it a challenge, make it the total length of a koke + trout.  That way you have to target both.  And they aren't necessarily found together.

Martin, If the warden lets me fish two days in a row we can carpool.

Ben, are you bringing the Adventure?  If Martin shows up, maybe we can have that 3-way race you proposed.
